McCracken Rest Home

About Us

McCracken Rest Home was founded and built by William C. McCracken in 1951. On a tip from a relative and employee of Haywood County Hospital, of the future need for senior housing, "Crawford" began building the structure almost immediately. We are one of the oldest continuously operated adult care facilities in Haywood County.

McCracken Rest Home is a quaint and caring assisted living community offering a variety of care and service options. Located on a quiet street just 1-mile from downtown Waynesville, NC, our residents enjoy a wonderful and picturesque, horse-farm setting, nestled within the peaceful atmosphere of a friendly mountain community. Great restaurants, museums, galleries and various professional services are available nearby.

Our mission is to provide the highest standard of care possible for our residents while maintaining a high quality of life, independence and self-esteem. Our nurturing staff works closely with outside health professionals to meet the specific needs of each resident and we encourage family and friends to visit our residents at any time.
